Choosing A CNA Program

Updated: Sep 9, 2022

Congratulations! You are ready to make the life-changing decision by becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). You have a heart for people, and you are prepared to advance or start your career in healthcare! Now, what???

Several factors are involved when deciding where to train for CNA classes. Researching the school online and visiting the site before deciding to enroll will allow you to learn more about the program, administration, courses, and facility where you will be training. You can also speak with some of the current students and instructors. They will have knowledge that can't be found online or by visiting the school.

While there are a variety of schools that provide CNA training here in Tallahassee, Lively Technical Center and Tallahassee Community College usually come to mind when students are searching. Lively Technical Center has the Florida Board of Nursing's approval to conduct nursing assistant classes in Florida, which offers a variety of programs that can help cover living expenses while studying for a career as a CNA. Tallahassee Community College provides an Associate Degree Nursing Program with a broader scope of courses for students who have completed the CNA Training Program.

  1. Choosing a CNA Training Program

When choosing a CNA school, you'll want to choose one that provides:

  • The training and accreditation.

  • Courses and length of the studies.

  • Financial assistance.

  • Conveniences such as a location suitable for you.

Create a detailed list of your needs and wants, and after going through your list, ask questions. You will also want to ensure that the CNA program is state-certified and a legitimate CNA school. All of these variables are significantly important when choosing.

2. What's so different about Nurse Resource Training Center?

We offer an all-inclusive packaged tuition with no other out-of-pocket cost after admission. Our facility is motivated to excel in the community, and our founder has a deep passion for seeing our community members prosper.

Unlike other CNA schools, Nurse Resource Training Center is known for its ability to graduate high-quality CNAs successfully. Our students will be invaluable in the workplace, from professionalism and hands-on skills classes to at least one job interview before graduating. Along with the education that our students get while in school, after graduation, they can start entry-level positions in Nursing Homes, Hospitals, and Home Healthcare agencies, increasing their family income and possibly stabilizing an unstable life.

Nurse Resource Training Center offers Hands-on CPR, Nursing Test Study Skills for LPN and RN students, and a state-approved Nursing Assistant training program that incorporates soft skills and professional development. Our program also provides a graduation process that includes state test exam prep, resume writing, mock interviews, and job fairs.

The Nursing Assistant Program includes a combination of classroom learning, laboratory practice, and supervised hands-on clinical training in a Long-Term Care facility.
